Maintaining the mentality
of detachment from duality,
mortality don’t deal in absolutes
Apocalyptic pedagogy,
epochs of misanthropology,
Möbius strips grown from aspen roots
Well there’s a plane falling slowly,
it’s crashing overhead
Go and warn the pilots,
That they’re already dead
You can put your headphones back in
Out the window you can see
I’ve gone and stole a parachute
And now I’m falling free
You can catch the colors if they run but you can’t catch me
No you can’t catch me
I’m already free
How it ought to be
No you can’t catch me
So are we aiming to be aimless,
Or are we famous for the fameless
Is that a responsible response?
Still questing for the aesthetic
But questioning which diuretic
Helps separate my own ideas from Kant’s?
Well I’ll see it when I believe it
And it’s easier done than said
You can look the man right in the eye
and put your hands up overhead
And when you’re lying on the pavement
Look up through the debris
Where did I find that guitar
and when did I climb that tree
You’re can catch the colors if they run
But you can’t catch me
No you can’t catch me
I’m already free
How it ought to be
No you can’t catch me
(Solo)
Well we are in a bubble
passing giants by degree
In the whirlpool in the eye of the storm
In the cold forgotten sea
Revolution’s spinning sugar in the hatter’s cup of tea
The yin and yang keep turning despite relativity
If you see the colors on the run
If you see then fading in the sun
When you think it’s all said and done
You can come with me
Oh won’t you come with me
You don’t need no pedigree
No prophetic decree
Won’t you come with me
